About the event
Join us in Albuquerque! Death over Drafts is a community event to spark curiosity & connection around death & dying. If you serve in the EOL community or looking for connection we welcome you!
This event will be a kick off to Gail Rubin's Before I Die New Mexico Festival happening all over town 10/15-10/21. Danielle will also be on the "What Does a Death Doula Do?" panel during the festival :).
Death over Drafts is an informal event about all things death and dying. We will be brewing up conversations using The Death Deck, a lively tool to navigate many topics related to death. Most of all, we want to encourage meaningful connections and have fun while de-stigmatizing talk about the inevitable.
A Death over Drafts gathering will include 30 minutes of mingling, 60 minutes of playing The Death Deck followed by 30 minutes of reflection.
- Event is free
- All our welcome
- Not sure yet if we will be inside or outside
- You can still come if you don't love beer ;)
Death over Drafts Happy Hour started with a brewing vision to bring people together and create meaningful connections by combining two passions—craft beer and conversations on end-of-life.
The first in person event was held as part of Let's Reimagine Festival (2019) in San Francisco. Since then Death over Drafts has had success at different greater Los Angeles breweries and on Zoom when we pivoted during COVID.
