We are super buzzed to have Janelle Ketcher, founder of Postal Service for the Dead (PSD) joining us. She will share and provide an opportunity to be part of this ongoing, collective project where people send letters to anyone in their life who has died.

With three layers of privacy, senders choose how they want their letters received: keep it sealed, read it but don't share, or share it. By sharing the letters, PSD hopes to normalize the full range of emotions and experiences that go alongside death, dying, and grieving. A collection of received letters can be found on our instagram at instagram.com/postalserviceforthedead.

Activity

Join Postal Service for the Dead, in creating unique cards to honor your grief and connect with anyone in your life who has died. Using old magazines, everyone of all artistic abilities will be invited to create a collage inspired by your dead person. From dreading upcoming Father's Day to warmer weather reminding us of past summer memories – we welcome you to use artmaking and letter writing for your healing journey. All art making materials and postage will be provided.

Death over Drafts (Happy Hour) started with a brewing vision to bring people together and create meaningful connections by combining two passions—craft beer and conversations on end-of-life.

The first in person event was held as part of Let's Reimagine Festival (2019) in San Francisco. Since then Death over Drafts has had success at different greater Los Angeles breweries and on Zoom when we pivoted during COVID.

Every Death over Drafts gathering has a different vibe based on who is co-crafting, aka hosting. While these gatherings provide an opportunity for those who serve in the end-of-life field to gather and reflect personally and professionally along with the curious...one thing is constant: all are welcome.
